Threaded rod is made from round bar as per the specified grade and diameter. Standard diameter and grade threaded rod will typically be mass produced by a thread rolling machine. This process involves passing round bar through two hardened steel rollers to imprint the thread onto the round bar.
Stud Bolts are externally threaded fasteners without a head, normally used with 2 Hex nuts & 2 Flat washers on either sides as an assembly. Stud bolts are prominently used in flange connections and the diameter and length varies as per the flange dimensions.
