Coating Types and Specification

  • Hot Dip Galvanization
    • Hot-dip galvanizing offers long-term protection for fasteners and other steel products.
    • Partly coated for complete coverage.
    • Expected service life can exceed 30 years.
    • Low life-cycle cost makes galvanizing an economical method of protecting steel.
    • Zinc bonds metallurgically to steel providing permanent protection.
  • Electrolytic Zinc Plated
    • Electroplated coatings of zinc with supplementary treatments on iron or steel (ISO 2081:2008)Fasteners — Electroplated coatings (ISO 4042:1999)
    • Corrosion tests in artificial atmospheres. Salt spray tests (ISO 9227:2006) Zinc, as a less precious metal, gives cathodic protection to steel; therefore small scratches in the coating do not cause immediate rusting of the steel. In modelling the corrosion durability, the coating is given a time limit it has to keep the object free of red rust. The most common model is neutral salt spray test according to standard ISO 9227:2006.
  • Cadmium Plating
    • Cadmium plating (or “cad plating”) offers a long list of technical advantages such as excellent corrosion resistance at relatively low thickness and in salt atmospheres, softness and malleability, freedom from sticky and/or bulky corrosion products, galvanic compatibility with aluminum, freedom from stick-slip thus allowing reliable torquing of plated threads, can be dyed to many colors and clear, has good lubricity and solderability, and works well either as a final finish or as a paint base
  • PTFE/XYLAN Coating
    • Xylan is made of low friction, wear resistant composites of fluoropolymers and reinforcing binder resins. Xylan coatings can be one-, two- (primer and top-coat), and three- (primer, mid-coat, top-coat) coat conventional and reinforced (filled) coating systems. The fluoropolymers utilized in Xylan coatings consist of PTFE, PFA, and FEP.
    • It is used to protect a metal from corrosion. This can be applied on internal of tanks, vessels and outside of fabricated products too. This is being used on valves and Fasteners in wide range.
  • Electroless Nickel Plated
    • This is used to protect the metal from corrosion and mostly this is applied on Fasteners being used for petrochemical, marine and Energy sectors.
